about

Fruit of Love is an Alman by Anthony Holbourne, published in 1599. The Gigg is credited to William Byrd in the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book, printed around 1612. A Bergomasque was a dance from Bergamo in Italy, usually associated with peasants and clowns; here I have given it a more showy, Italianate treatment.
